Dr. Antonello Tebano
Dr. Antonello Tebano received his degree in Physics and his PhD at the University of Rome. Since 1994 he has held the position of Researcher at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”- Italy. He is co-author of around 80 papers in the field of the physics of thin films, heterostructures and superlattices. Initially he worked on the deposition and characterization of diamond and diamond-like films. Successively his research activity was mainly devoted to the deposition and advanced characterization of nanostructured materials including novel cuprate superconductors ((BaCuO2/CaCuO2 high-temperature superconducting superlattices ferromagnetic materials (manganites) thin films and more recently materials for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells applications. He has a long experience on advanced thin films and heterostructures and superlattices deposition techniques such as Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) and PLD with in-situ RHEED diagnostics (Laser-MBE). In the field of High Tc superconductors his research permitted new cuprates superlattices structures, to be obtained, using a layer by layer deposition technique, and supported the possibility of synthesizing new artificial high Tc structures by PLD and Laser-MBE. In the field of ferromagnetic materials his research was devoted to study manganites physics related to strain and interface effects. Presently he is also working on physical phenomena occurring at the surfaces and interfaces of oxide heterostructures and superlattice thin films in order to realize materials with improved performances for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells applications.
